Warm Up
- Dodge Games
- Group of two
- Student A takes 10 shuttlecocks and stands at the center court facing the opposite court
- Student B stands on the same side of court between net and service line, facing the Student A
- Student A try to hit Student B by throwing the shuttlecocks at Student B, aim at the body
- Student B must keep moving side way (bend down knee, moving with side shuffle) to avoid being hit
- Rotate roles after 10 shuttlecocks.
- Repeat for 3 rounds
Notes:
- Warmup without rackets
- Increases heart rate and blood flow
2 min break
Footwork Drill: 4 points corner movement (15 min)
- Coaches to demonstrate the correct footwork moving to 4 corners and return to the base
- Movement should include:
- Begin with directional split step, with body position heading to the direction of the corner
- Sideway shuffle/Chasses step to the corner
- When arrive, execute a shadow net shot (front corners) and shadow clear shot (rear corners)
- Recover body balance
- Move back to the center court with chasse step, arrive with a split step
- Students work in group of two on a half court, take turn to practice
- Each student does 3 rounds (right front corner – right rear corner – left rear corner – left front corner), repeat for 5 sets
Notes:
- Each coach look after one court, observe students follow the instruction
- Stop the students and correct them if notice them not doing it right or missing steps

Technique: Dropshot and Netshot (30 min)
- Group of 3: Two feeders and one worker
- Each group take one side of a full court. All feeders on one side of the court and all workers on the other side of the court.
- Feeder A does high serve. Focus on height and land between the last two lines on the worker’s court. Take time to get ready and execute a good high serve, do not rush to serve quickly.
- Worker starts from the center. Move backward to the rear court and execute a dropshot. Focus on contact point (high and in front of their body). After dropshot, recover and get ready to move forward for netshot.
- Feeder B feed the second shot for worker to move forward to execute a netshot. Feeder B throw shuttle when worker recovered from body position, give time for worker to move forward to take the net shot
- 10 shuttlecocks for feeder A, 10 shuttlecocks for feeder B
- Rotate rotate role 10 shuttlecocks. 3 rounds of each role for every students.
Notes:
- Coaches pay attention to all students executing the shot especially on grip, high serve, drop shot and net shot
- Coaches can alter the drill to make it more simple (isolate the skills) for students unable to perform the drill
